• Meets 1st Monday at Noon at Authority Office

• Created under the Urban Redevelopment Law the purpose of the Authority is the elimination of blight in the community through economically and socially sound redevelopment in conformity with the City’s comprehensive plan for residential, recreational, commercial and industrial uses.  Some purposes are to be public uses for which public money may be spent and private property may be acquired.  The Board oversees the activities of the Authority.

• H.B. 2027 of 2004 provides that a majority of the members shall be residents of the city and the remainder may be non-residents "who own and operate businesses in the city in which the authority is to operate."
