The public works director is the city’s executive and administrative officer responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City’s infrastructure, including public roadways, water and sewer distribution systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and city parks.  The Public Works Director serves and advises the City Manager, supervises the work force, coordinates projects with State and Federal agencies and contractors, and prepares a proposed annual budget for the city manager’s consideration. 

The public works Director’s Office is the focal point for community construction projects, and works closely with the City’s consulting engineer in the development and planning of short and long-term infrastructure needs within the community.  The Director of Public Works interacts daily with the City Manager, administrative staff, departmental supervisors, and the City Engineer.

The Public Works Department consists of Water, Sewer, and Streets Departments, Parks, and centralized contract services such as refuse collection. 

Normal daytime operating hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
