Library Board Minutes

 

 

September 19, 2006

 

The board of directors of the Benson Memorial Library began its

meeting at 4:30 P.M., Tuesday, September 19, 2006. President Mrs. Lynn

Pendensky presided. Others attending were Library Director Mrs. Gail Myer,

Mr. Steve Coleman, Mrs. Lois Nazzaro, Mrs. Lynn Cressman, Mrs. Rose

Nystrom, Mr. Herbert Butcher, Mrs. Donna Noel, and Recording Secretary

Mr. Allan Hughes.

The Board inspected the minutes of the July meeting. RESOLVED: That the minutes of the July meeting be approved. Motion made by Mrs. Noel, seconded by Mrs. Nystrom, and adopted without opposition.

The Board next inspected the financial report and bills. RESOLVED: That the financial report and bills be approved. Motion made by Mr. Butcher, seconded by Mr. Coleman, and passed unanimously.

On her Director’s report, Mrs. Myer elaborated on the problems and delays on the roof and lawn.

The first item of old business was an update on changes in computer systems in the County Library System. The ird was next asked to approve a Crawford County Federated Library System

RESOLVED: That the adjustment in the CCFLS budget be approved. Motion made by Mr. Coleman, seconded by Mrs. Nazzaro, and passed without opposition.

Mrs. Myer mentioned that the annual patron drive had been going well. Attempts to plant grass underneath the trees on the southwestern side of the building have been frustrated by young people riding their bikes through the area. A new type of grass recommended for use under trees will be planted, with the area’s being fenced off.

A discussion ensued concerning the library’s investments. Mrs. Pedensky and Mr. Coleman voluntarily excused themselves from that part of the meeting. After a short discussion, it was decided to take a vote.
