Several municipal liens have been placed on properties to recover the costs for mowing. In addition, many refuse complaints and abandoned properties are being investigated. The majority of abandoned properties are usually the result of a bank foreclosure and most often the bank is out of state. When contact cannot be made with the responsible party the violation notice is posted on the property. Unfortunately, with no one looking after the property the posting goes unnoticed and the City ends up correcting the violation.
